Where is My Father?

I wrote this at dawn prayer, but I am mentally and emotionally still there…

I know…
I know that a few lines of poetry,
won’t fill the gap between us.

Missed years,
and missed tears.
Regardless of the reasons,
I wasn’t there,
to bear,
your pain.

You faced the world without a shield,
insecurities concealed.
Where is my father?
Why bother?

Days passed on,
one after another,
piling on,
until the sun of hope was blocked.
Shocked!
by how cruel some people could be.

Maybe one day,
we’ll see again,
eye,
to,
eye.

Regardless,
I’m here now,
waiting for you,
as you once waited,
For,
So,
Long…
