The Call

hands

Death is the major issue in the world. For you, for me, for all of us. It just is. To not be able to talk about it is very odd” -Cormac McCarthy

“Of all the worlds wonders, which is the most wonderful? That no man, though he sees others dying all around him, believe that he himself will die” -The Indian epic, The Mahabharata

I got a call,
From someone on the brink of death,
He said to me:
You still have time, you still have health,
I’m near the end,
I fear the future that shall soon consume me,
How could I let,
Neglect to be the theme of my own story,
Come to my aid,
With every righteous deed and every prayer,
For I am you,
Hoping that you not be my own betrayer.
